Color Q Challenge 38 - A crazy quilt

I love the colors in this weeks ColorQ Challenge ( bordering blue, kiwi kiss, pumpkin pie, riding hood red) Since I have put away my retired colors, I substituted Marina Mist and Old Olive. I have had the idea of a colorful quilt running around in my head so I thought I would apply it to this challenge. Keeping with the textile theme, I accented the card with a striped ribbon and a few buttons.  I am very happy with the crazy, bright quilt card.

Stamps - Elelments of Style, Friends 24-7, Artistic Etchings, Vintage Labels
Inks - pumpkin pie, marina mist, riding hood red, old olive, basic black
Paper - whisper white and pumpkin pie card stock

No Stamping and a lot of dust on Father's Day.

making a low catch

Megan and her personal water boy

We spent this last weekend at Megan's All Star Softball Tournament in Sylmar. It was a long dusty weekend with the girls finishing their final game at 4:00 on Sunday afternoon. They took 2nd place in the tournament and we were very proud of the way they played. Megan usually plays catcher but also took her spot at first base. After a long weekend she was ready to get home, relax and stare at her trophy. I am very proud of my beautiful All-Star ( and the water boy too)

We made it home in time to take dad out for a nice Father's Day dinner so he could relax after all the pacing over the weekend:)

Mojo Monday 142 - Sneak Peek New Greenhouse Gala DSP

I received my pre-order this weekend which included the new 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog and all I can say is WOW, WOW ,WOW! (with a few squeals of delight). The much anticipated Color Renovation is so fresh and fabulous. The new stamps, new colors, new accessories are all fantastic, but my favorite is all the new Designer Series Papers. The images...the colors.. OOOOOhhhh Aaaahhhh.

This week's Mojo Monday Sketch gave me the perfect opportunity to use this yummy new Designer Series Paper Greenhouse Gala. I can't say enough about how beautiful this paper is and all the colors are just delicious. I did use the more muted papers from this collection. Most of the items are very bright and just stunning. The flower is cut out from the paper.  I have had the papers out on my work surface just so I could glance at them every time I went by my craft closet. I would wallpaper my room with one of the papers if I could. I will definitely be incorporating this paper into my craft space since coordinates with my paint color perfectly. Mmmm, Mmm good.

Paper - Greenhouse Gala
Stamps - Full of Life
Ink - Chocolate Chip
Paper - Greenhouse Gala DSP, pear pizzazz, daffodil delight, chocolate chip, baja breeze whisper white card stock.

Curtain Call Color 32 - Get Sketchy Challenges

Here is a card I made combining the Curtain Call Color Challenge and this week's Get Sketchy Challenge. I made the scrunched flowers using the Birds and Blooms sizzix die. The larger flowers are held together with brads while the smaller ones are held together with a thread that had been knotted. This card reminds me of a gift wrapped package.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - OOOPS I need a card for an apology.

The Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge afforded me a great design for this card. I was a real bone head and need to make an apology. Since it is going to a gentlemen, I used somewhat masculine colors and the always versatile Trendy Trees. I think this design would work well for a sympathy card as well.

Stamps - Trendy Trees, In a Word
Ink - So Saffron, Chocolate Chip
