You're My Type for UStampwithDawnandFriends

My project has posted so now I can share my latest project for UStampwithDawnandFriends. The focus for this round is the Big Shot and I chose to hi-lite the new Edgelit Dies. LOVE LOVE LOVE these dies. When I created this set, I had the box in mind and wanted to keep the look clean and modern. After I started working on the set, I wanted to make sure that it could be used for multiple occasions and recipients ( men too:)).

Valentine's Day Card for My Little Girl

Here is the Valentine I created for my daughter Megan. Even though she is just shy of her 15th birthday, she will always be my little girl. She used to have a little blue dress just like this and sweet black patent leather shoes. Now she wears heels... ahh where does the time go?

For inspiration I used The Paper Player's Color Challenge. Check out their wonderful creations using  Poppy Parade, Pool Party, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.

Stamps - Greeting Card Kids
Ink - Black, pool party, marina mist, bashful blue, pink pirouette, poppy parade, soft suede
Paper - Everday Enchantment, Attic Boutique DSP, poppy parade, very vanilla card stock
Accessories - Poppy Parade Poly-Stitched Ribbon, button, dimensionals, oval Dies, dazzling diamonds glitter

RMH Valentine Treat Bags

Here are some cute little treat bags I made for our local Ronald McDonald House for Valentine's Day. I CASEd this project from Carol at Happiness Blooms. Her bags are just darling and caught my attention right away. She has much more detail to her bags and her papers are just beautiful. This is such a versatile project she created and it works beautifully with cello bags. I used the Big Top Birthday DSP for my bags as well as a little Twitterpated.

Stamps - (MDS) PS I Love You
Paper - Twitterpated, Big Top Birthday DSP, real red, whisper white, marina mist card stock
Accessories - Heart Punch, Whisper White Satin Ribbon, cellophane bags, Crop-A-Dile

Freshly Made Sketches and Paper Players - Sympathy Card

Unfortunately my neighbor passed away this week after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. She and her husband were such an inspiration to me and my friends. We would see them walking each day hand in hand enjoying their time together in retirement. We would all remark how we hope we will be doing the same thing - enjoying outings and holding hands with our husbands.

I made this card using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches - I will also post it on the Paper Players challenge which features a flower themed challenge.

Stamps - Simply Soft, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink - Stazon black, marina mist, baja breeze, pear pizzazz, wild wasabi, sahara sand
Paper - Pocketful of Posies DSP, very vanilla, not quite navy card stock
Accessories - Oval dies, Square Lattice embossing folder, dimensionals

Valentine Themed Stamp Club

Last night our stamp club met and we made items for Valentine's Day. Since I have all ladies in my group, I wanted to make a masculine Valentine Card. As you can see, these are not traditional Valentine colors but I did get a heart in there. This is another My Digitial Studio Hybrid. The upper right panel and sentiment were printed using MDS.

I have such a hard time choosing accessories for masculine cards and find that I use the same items over and over. What is your favorite masculine accessory? I would love to hear what you use  - so please leave me a comment.

Congratulations - Freshly Made Sketches

To make Sydney's card ( see previous post), I turned to Freshly Made Sketches. Their clean and simple sketches are my new "go to" sketch site and the design team is amazingly talented. The 3 1/4" x 6 1/2" sketch really caught my eye. I used the new Spring Fever Simply Scrappin' paper for a cheery color combination. The colors really do make one long for spring.

Stamps - Furry Folk, Mixed Bunch, Silhouette Sentiments
Ink - basic black, daffodil delight, melon mambo, pear pizzazz, crumb cake, basic gray, chocolate chip
Paper - Simply Scrappin' Spring Fever DSP, pear pizzazz, daffodil delight, whisper white card stock
Accessories - Blossom Punch, Pear Pizzazz Pleated Ribbon, Modern Lable Punch, Word Window Punch, 1" Circle Punch, dimensionals.

Congratulations for a Teen

This week our neighbor's heard if their soon-to-be-freshman made it into special magnet programs. Both Sydney and Brandon were accepted into the program of their choice. I made this card for Brandon in celebration of his acceptance. Masculine cards are a stretch for me, but teen cards even more so.

Stamps - Up, Up and Away, Hugs and Wishes
Ink - Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Soft Suede
Paper - Well Worn DSP, Travels Retired DSP, very vanilla, cajun craze and crumb cake card stock
Accessories - Framelits Label die, Edgelits Adorning Accent die, button, linen thread, brad, dimensionals
