Redux - I Like it Better

I switched the colors on this card and like the contrast much better. To add a little texture to the mustard band at the bottom, I "sueded" the paper. I am really enjoying the new In Color  -Pool Party. It really coordinates with so many colors.

Paper - early espresso, pool party, very vanilla, more mustard
Ink - pool party, early espresso, more mustard
Stamps - Elements of Style, Nature Walk, Because I Care ( sentiment)
Accessories - Large decorative label punch, early espresso satin ribbon, dimensionals

Paper Crafts Inspiration Card

This card was inspired by a card that I like in the July/August issue of Paper Crafts magazine. It looks very light in the picture, but it is really a bit darker in person. I am going to give this one another try with a darker color combo to make it pop a bit more.

I didn't have a re-inker to color the ribbon with so I used a Blushing Bride Stampin' Write marker to color very vanilla seam binding, then quickly dipped it in water to disperse the color. I hung it to dry and it actually worked. Needless to say, blushing bride re-inker is on my current order list.

Paper - very vanilla, blushing bride, crumb cake
Ink - pool party, crumb cake, blushing bride
Stamps - Elements of Style, Nature Walk, Because I Care ( sentiment)
Accessories - Large decorative label punch, very vanilla and crumb cake seam binding, blushing bride Stampin' Write marker, dimensionals

The Butterfly and the Bee

I have been on a bit of a romantic kick lately with all the flowers, ribbon, pearls, bees and butterflies. I am creating samples of my work for our school auction this Saturday and will be adding a thank you note, banner ( just one) and a party favor to this card. My donation is hand crafted paper items for parties so I wanted to provide a visual. I think next week I am going to have to revisit clean and simple.

Stamps - Nature Walk, Friends 24/7, French Foliage,  En Francais, Sincere Salutations
Ink - basic grey, so saffron, pink pirouette, baja breeze
Paper - Newsprint DSP, very vanilla, craft and blushing bride card stock
Accessories - very vanilla seam binding, Beautiful Butterflies die, decorative label punch, pearl jewels, rosettes

PPA77 - Au Naturale

Yesterday was a tough day for Chicago Bears fans. Da Bears were shut out of the Superbowl by the Green Bay Packers within the first half of the game. I took my sorrows to my craft closet and they were quickly forgotten after immersing myself in stamping.

I turned to this weeks PPA sketch challenge for inspiration - a fabulous sketch by Margret Moody. Using the papers from Botanical Gazette, featured in the Spring mini-catalog, I created the card above. I wanted to keep the card feeling organic and natural so I kept to an earthy color palette. I colored in the flower that is featured on the paper to give it a little more life. I finished the card with a green rosette and of course the bee on the sentiment. I actually purchased the stamp set almost exclusively for this beautiful bee - >>>>>Tara Bee Ink.

On Superbowl Sunday I will, unfortunately, not be cheering on Da Bears. I think it will be the Steelers -but, there is always next year. - Go Bears!
