Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop - Clean and Simple

This is my first blog hop and I am very excited to participate in the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop. Today's theme is a Clean and Simple Card. My project is made using For the Love of Cupcakes which is such a delicious stamp set with many variations of cupcakes, stands and toppers - so yummy to work with. I am just starting to use Copics so bear with my learning curve regarding the coloring of the images. I think a class is in order plus many more Copic colors:)

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge

Here is a clean and simple card I made for Taylored Expressions sketch challenge. Since I am a pet owner, there always comes a time when someone must look in on our little doggies and cat when we go away for vacation. I like to send a thank you note to the care giver who takes such good care of our furry family and made this card in anticipation of our upcoming trips to Napa and to Atlantis. I love the Scotties in Love image as well as the bright cheery paper from My Mind's Eye. I added a bit of Crystal Effects to the whole punched DSP for some added shimmer ( doesn't show up in pic).

Stamps - TE Scotties in Love
Ink - baja breeze, pear pizzazz, creamy caramel, chocolate chip, old olive, melon mambo
Paper - My Mind's Eye Tickled Pink, very vanilla, baja breeze and melon mambo card stock, watercolor paper
Accessories - dimensionals, Crystal Effects

I just need to get through the next few busy weeks with a million things on my to do list until I can sit back on the beach with a cocktail and do nothing but watch the waves crash on the beach.  I keep picturing a photo I took on our trip 2 years ago. -  Ahhh just 10 days, 18 hours and 27 minutes left to go.

Where did this little girl go?

I was cleaning out my craft closet today and came across this picture of Megan when she was little. Every time I see it I am just pulled in by her eyes. I want to know what she was thinking. Such a serious and thoughtful look. Now, we are getting ready to send her to high school. Where in the world did this little peanut go?

From Masculine to Uber Feminine - OCC Challenge

Yea! Flowers and ribbon, just what I wanted after focusing on boys cards. This weeks OCC challenge is a recipe challenge to use hand made flowers, ribbon and bling. It's as if they heard the plea from my last post:).

Recipe
Ribbon - I gathered baja breeze and very vanilla seam binding and combined it with Victoria crochet trim.
Bling - I used the pearl jewels on both the dress hem and in the centers of the flowers.
Hand Made Flowers - I quilled the flowers ( I know I need to find a new flower making technique). In order for the pink roses not to appear too flat, I sponged ink onto very vanilla card stock. If you are new to my blog and want to learn how to make these flowers, click here

Stamps - Chic Boutique ( Interior of card has "It seems only fitting to wish you a happy day" sentiment
Ink - basic black, rich razzleberry, always artichoke, crumb cake
Paper - Springtime Vintage DSP, very vanilla and baja breeze card stock
Accessories - very vanilla, baja breeze seam binding, Victoria crochet trim, pear jewels, dimensionals, quilling tool,  SB labels #4 dies

Oh Boy! Another Birthday

'Tis the season for pre-teen boys birthdays around here. I needed another birthday card for a boy and wanted to use something other than Extreme Elements which is normally a go-to for young boys. This time I combined the hand stamp from Bring On the Cake with some Basic Grey paper to add a more masculine feel. I liked my 1/2" circle strip I created on my last card so I included it on this card to make it a little more whimsical and not so serious. I am running out of ideas for boys cards so I hope there is a girls birthday on the horizon. Give me some flowers and ribbon to work with!

Stamps - Bring on the Cake, Vintage Labels ( discontinued)
Ink - basic black, riding hood red, creamy caramel, soft suede
Paper - Basic Grey Curion, early espresso riding hood red, very vanilla card stock
Accessories - labels dies, 1/2" , 1" 1 1/4" circle punches, circle dies, dimensionals
