Congratulations - Freshly Made Sketches

To make Sydney's card ( see previous post), I turned to Freshly Made Sketches. Their clean and simple sketches are my new "go to" sketch site and the design team is amazingly talented. The 3 1/4" x 6 1/2" sketch really caught my eye. I used the new Spring Fever Simply Scrappin' paper for a cheery color combination. The colors really do make one long for spring.

Beau Chateau Thank You

I have been waiting for a while for the Beau Chateau designer series paper for 2011-2012 and was so excited when it arrived yesterday on the big brown truck! I needed a thank you card and of course couldn't wait to dig into this pack. I created this card for my very best friend who gave me some amazing gifts for my birthday. BUT the most amazing gift is her friendship. She is an amazing person and I believe I am a better person because of her influence. Whenever I hear the song "For Good" from Wicked I think of our friendship. (click on the link and listen) I am truly blessed to have her in my life.

So anywhoo, I received this paper as well as a few other goodies that I ordered, but one of the most exciting is the Simply Scrappin' Kit - Tea Time. I normally don't order Scrappin' Kits but this one caught my eye right away and it is so beautiful. The great thing about the kits is that they come with everything you need to create scrapbook pages or many sets of coordinated cards/projects ( DSP, card stock, stickers, borders etc). You will see some shortly from this beautiful Tea Time set.

Mojo Monday - Goodbye to You My Trusted Friend.....

Today was the last day of school for my son Jake. I needed a card and gift for his teacher so I turned to the Mojo Monday Sketch Blog for inspiration. Oh My GOODNESS! there are so many beautiful cards submitted this week by the design team and all the participants. I guess it is indicative of a great sketch. Anywhooo, so I am saying goodbye to a trusted friend - Play Date DSP. It was my go-to for a bright uplifting card. I thought this paper was perfect for my son's teacher. Make sure you take the opportunity to order this paper before June 30th before it's gone for good.

Color Throwdown 112 - Sweet Stop Combination

For this card, I combined two challenges Color Throwdown and The Sweet Stop. It is so nice to be able to visit such amazing challenge blogs especially when I have a creative block. The Sweet Stop provided the layout for this card, and Color Throwdown challenged us to use old olive, riding hood red and pumpkin pie. I used the new hostess stamp set Silhouette Sentiments which is quickly becoming a new favorite along with old favorites such as old olive striped ribbon and a pumpkin pie button.
