PPA9 Challenge - Pottery Barn Inspiration

This weeks challenge was to use the Pottery Barn picture above as an inspiration. I used the new Charming stamp set with pumpkin, pie, old olive, kraft very vanilla and a touch of chocolate chip to replicate the colors from the picture above. Sounds delicious doesn't it? The very vanilla card stock was embossed using the Textured Impressions Finial Press with the Big Shot. Of course I need to add ribbon which I accented with the very vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware. Ummm very vanilla, chocolate chip, pumpkin pie.... I'm getting hungry.

Going Through Withdraw

AHHH, my craft closet is under construction and I am going through withdraw. I am very excited to have a refurbished space to work in, but I can't stamp right now and I have challenges and classes calling to me. Check back next week for the completion pictures and information. I can't wait!!!

As I said earlier, I love to cover items with DSP to personalize my space. My craft closet which was formerly an unused walk in ( ok I am a paper fiend and not a clothes fiend) now serves as my craft closet and was inspired by the Bella Bleu DSP. I not only wanted to use the Bella Bleu DSP but was also itching to use some Definitely Decorative decor elements. My family and pictures of them are a big part of my space so I incorporated the Life Milestones decor elements onto the wall of pictures. Now I get to enjoy them as I craft and I think the Life Milestones quote works beautifully with the pictures.. They make me smile and remind me of how blessed I am. I love my closet especially when I can close the door and work quietly at night while everyone has gone to bed.

PPA8 Challenge - KISS

This weeks challenge was a great one in theory, in execution a little more difficult. KISS ( keep it simple sweetie) I started with the red and white card using only real red and whisper white along with the Serene Snowflakes stamp set. - Did I like this one ? - not so much. I really wanted to add richer colors so I made the "Joy" card which I was happier with.

I started with very vanilla, chocolate chip and red card stock and combined it with the Merry Moments DSP. I love this color combination! The chocolate chip paper was embossed using the Big Shot texture plates. I stamped the "joy" ornament from the Delightful Decorations stamp set in real red and added dazzling diamonds glitter to the swirls on the ornament to give it a little sumpin' sumpin'. A small amount of floss was adhered to the back of the ornament in order to hang it around the greeting on the ribbon. The greeting is also from the Delightful Decorations stamp set stamped in real red and punched out with a circle punch. Of course there must be ribbon so I added real red polka dot ribbon. The greeting was added to the ribbon and the ornament mounted with Stampin' Dimensionals to finish the card.

Mojo104 - Mojo Monday - Fall Colors and Trendy Trees

Even though the trunk of the red tree looks a bit off in the photo, it matches when seen from the front.

I am enjoying the challenges from various design groups to inspire new card creations. It is really giving me some new and fresh ideas. Here is a card I created with one of the most versatile stamp sets, Trendy Trees. I stamped the foliage in real red, crushed curry and old olive. Trunks were stamped in chocolate chip. I stamped extra red and curry foliage to cut out and mounted with Stampin' Dimensionals to add dimension to 2 trees. I created the polka dot background paper using the circles from Big Bold Birthday ( I think they're supposed to be chocolate chips - but they are polka dots now) and stamped them in crushed curry and real red and mounted them with chocolate chip and more mustard card stock. All the circles were die cut on the Big Shot using the circles die cut - whisper white, chocolate chip and more mustard. I also used the Big Shot texture plates to create embossed polka dots on the real red background paper. Corners were punched using the 1/2" circle punch. The lines on the real red paper were drawn with the chocolate chip stampin' write. The card was finished with buttons from the button latte collection. I CAN'T BELIEVE I DIDN'T USE RIBBON! I wanted to use the real red polka-dot ribbon but it was too much.

PPA7 Sketch Challenge

This is my first "challenge" card based on a sketch from Margaret Moody. Using one of my favorite new stamps Little Boo. I stamped him in perfect plum, pumpkin pie and old olive then punched each image out with a circle punch. I then punched a larger circle in coordinating card stock and mounted the stamped image on it. These were then mounted with Stampin' dimensionals on black card stock punched with the scallop circle punch. The card base is black with layered pumpkin pie and old olive paper from the DSP Cast-A-Spell. The striped paper from Cast-A-spell was used for the top. I finished the card with "of course" b/w gingham ribbon and a pumpkin pie button. The sentiment, from Teeny Tiny Wishes, was stamped on pumpkin pie card stock and layered with black.
