Nesting

Even though I have not lived in a cooler climate for 13 years, I still find myself "nesting" before the winter. It is usually a fall version of spring cleaning and I can't help but prepare for winter even though it doesn't come in Southern California. In my blogging travels looking for home making blogs, I have come across 2 great ones. Clean Mama and A Bowl Full of Lemons. Both have challenges which began earlier, but I am jumping in and doing both.

Clean Mama is featuring 31 Days To  Clean House giving a list of jobs to cover each day that should take no longer that 15 minutes. I am starting today and will begin from the beginning. Let me know if you decide to follow too. Her blog is great for cleaning tips and she has very cute printables to help you along.

A Bowl full of Lemons is featuring a 14 Week Program to a Perfectly Organized Home. I will begin with her current assignment and go back to the beginning when the challenge is finished and cover the missed projects. Even though it seems like I am always getting rid of outgrown/outdated items, it is time once again to purge and organize. I think this time I will be absolutely brutal. There are way too many clothes in my closet that I never wear. I think I am actually looking forward to some "bar space" in there. Again, let me know if you would like to follow the organizing plan. Fancy Favor and That's a Wrap for Lunch

On Sunday, Megan hosted a luncheon for her friend who is going to study in Ireland for 3 months. I made these party favors and cupcake toppers using my new favorite, That's a Wrap digital download. These are so quick and easy.

Speaking of Gift Giving

Here is a pop-up gift card holder I created using new items that I have been dying to use. The main sentiment is framed by Daydream Medallions, die cut with Floral Frames Framelits,  which I couldn't wait to buy. They are perfect accents to frame many sentiments or images. I paired it with the new Candelight Christmas DSP and stamped my own background paper using Day of Gratitude. A little heart, flower and basic jewels finish the card.

Stamp Club - Quickies for the Holidays

This month our stamp club met for our new session. Our theme was "Quick Ideas for the Holidays".  I introduced the ladies to the kraft boxes from the new 2012-2013 Idea Book and Catalog along with the new MDS download That's a Wrap ( My new FAVORITE, I just love this digital suite). These two products in combination with one another allow you to create quick and cute gift boxes. They are perfect for gift cards, small gifts and homemade goodies. I will be featuring these items quite a bit in the next few months.

Two other Items that we worked on took advantage of the quick and easy elements from the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit. After creating the glassine bag featured in the Holiday catalog, we used the circle tag from the kit to create a quick goodie bag. I demonstrated how this bag can literally be completed in just over 1 minute - talk about a "quickie".
