The Paper Players - Sketch Challenge

This week's challenge at The Paper Players is a great sketch challenge from Lesley.  I was inspired to create this card by a project I saw in Paper Crafts magazine using the emboss resist technique. I did use a few retired items - the Botanical Gazette DSP and All a Flutter stamp to coordinate with my resist image.

I am actually proud that I pulled out the background honeycomb paper and USED it since I have been hoarding it since last Spring:). At times I become a little too attached to paper and ant to "save" it. I still have an unopened pack of Autumn Meadow DSP that I occasionally take out and admire. Perhaps a little therapy will persuade me to use it someday.

I hope you submit a lovely creation for this week's challenge. Make sure you visit the design team's beautiful blogs and leave a sweet comment.

  1. Tara, I just love the colors you used on your card. I also love this butterfly you used. I never did get to ink mine up too much until it retired. It fits so perfectly with all your other elements!

  3. Good for you, using that hoarded paper!!! LOL! This is so pretty---nice that you chose to do a non-Christmas card, as that seems to be the only theme running in my head these days! AND I love your blog background & header...CUTE!

  8. I'm hoarding that paper too, Tara! Actually I'm hoarding a LOT of paper...I'm with you and trying to share it a little more often. But SOME papers are strictly reserved for "special occasions". (For me it is Summer Picnic and last year's Candy Lane holiday paper)

Your card is absolutely stunning! I love the rich colors and the great details that you do so well. That tiny tag is perfect! Hope you are off to a great start to the week! Big hugs! :)

  9. This is gorgeous! The colors are so warm and the butterfly is lovely. And I seem to have the same problem with designer paper. There are some that I frequently take out to admire, but rarely cut!
