The Paper Players - Non-Holiday/Christmas Challenge - MDS Hybrid

WOW! I can't believe my time as a guest designer for The Paper Players is almost up. I have just one more project with the team next week and then I will go back to entering the challenges. My, how time flies when you are having fun! This week Nance has a fun challenge for us to use non-holiday stamps or color combinations to create a Christmas card.

I knew I wanted to use Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzaz ( don't know where my brain picked that from). Since the color combination is a little modern and youthful I  decided to use my Furry Folk set and went from there. I had a scene in my head but no paper to match SO I turned once again to My Digital Studio. I created the background paper using digital paper and stamps. It was rather fun and I am really starting to see endless possibilities with MDS.

I printed out this sentiment on whisper white card stock, then stamped the images around it. I just love this little hedgie! A little glimmer paper border, ribbon and jewels and it is finished. Non- holiday stamp with non-holiday colors.

I had some company in the closet while while I was working and had to post these pictures.
Boo tucked up asleep on my work surface

Barney - The Stalker - He follows me EVERYWHERE

Please join us this week for The Paper Players challenge. Make sure to visit all the design teams non-traditional Christmas projects and leave a sweet comment.

  1. Very clever to use MDS for your paper, which is darling---as is your card, and your "helpers"!!!

  2. This is really cute! And your furry company is adorable!

  3. Adorable! Love all the critters in your closet! I know, three months have flown by in a blink!

  4. Love your color palette and the sparkliness of your card, Tara! That little porcupine is absolutely adorable!

  5. I can see where you get your inspiration for such cute critters with all your friends hanging around! Your hedgie is adorable Tara and I love the clever way you've made your background paper...these colors are fantastic together! Fantastic take on my hoopla challenge, my friend!

  6. Tara B!! This is SO stinkin' cute! I love, love, LOVE how you created that background in MDS. As if I haven't mentioned it before, you are a creative ROCKSTAR! I have to admit, that critter set was never on my wish list until I saw the the fun creations you have made with it. I mean, seriously! You give them SO much personality. Love it!

The pics of Boo and Barney make me smile. Gotta love those "helpers"! Hoe your weekend was fun! I will send you a picture of my neighbor's Christmas lights, for the full effect. "I dedicate this house to the Griswold Family Christmas." Big hugs! )

  7. Tara, this is great! I am sure you picked those colors because they are just a tad further down the color wheel from red and bright green. It worked really well!

Also love seeing pet pictures. Yours are sweeties! I have a black cat, also, and her name is Cristabel. :)

  8. Letting out a squeal as I am so totally taken in by your fabulous card, Tara! All the while I'm wondering where the sweet paper and snowflake elements came from - I am delighted to find they are from MDS and that I just downloaded them last week! Thanks for the inspiration!

You've done an awesome job as GD and I love your work.

  9. Dear Tara.
